A gift from the rain

Rain today ... The new year begins as 2010 ended ... Rain. But I had to pick up my camera. On Christmas day, I was shooting and then, a horrid sound started. I thought a cat was stuck inside my camera. The grinding sound continued even when I turned the camera off.

I started researching new cameras, and as much as I would have loved to bought one, the cost as prohibited. The only way it would happen is if I was told the "busted" camera and could not be repaired.

The main Canon repair service center is located just 40 miles north of me, so after a drive up there, I discovered my camera can be repaired. So here we are, one week later and yeah ... I have it back.

First thing I did was take a photograph. But of what. I'm in the car, waiting for the rain to stop and my coffee cup was looking pretty cool. So I sat in my car, focused and decided on my image.

The rain kept coming, so I decided to head home. I took the coastal route instead of the Hwy 5 (which was so backed up). I stopped in Dana Point to try to catch a view above the Harbor, but when I turned around, the rain stopped. The sun came out and this incredible rainbow appeared. What a sight and a great way to start off with my "new" repaired camera.

That's the big news for today!
