Meet Rita

It's me, Rita. I describe myself as an Artist and Photographer. I'm an on-location, natural light photographer in Oceanside, CA. In German, "Spiegel" means "mirror". My images reflect me as an artist and photographer. My father gave me my first camera at the age of 8 and I've been photographing my world ever since.

Now, I share my home with a 14 lb. Pomeranian, named Kharma "Fluffy Pants" Spiegel. He is the CEO (Canine Executive Officer) for my dog photography sessions.

I graduated with a Degree in Art from San Diego State University. A Art Director and an Artistic Photographer, I love fresh faces as well as capturing each client's unique personality and preserving it as art, in the photography format. I want you to have a fun and truly unique experience, each portrait is not only created from my heart but an original piece of Art. For my personal fun style, I enjoy street photography (check out my random gallery), ocean and waves and travel. You can also see some of my "day-to-day" photographs taken from my iPhone on Instagram.

Professionally, I'm a photographer, just part of my life as an Artist. I have always been a creative soul ... I’m also a watercolor painter and jewelry designer. To show my other creative parts of my life, I created and founded Kharma’s ARTist Colony, bringing Kharma and Art together. Check out some of my paintings, jewelry and gifts, including (pillows, phone cases, convas prints, prints and paintings on Etsy and Society6.

Personally, I'm born on the cusp of Taurus & Gemini. Born in Florida, but a Cali girl since I was a kid. I love the beach and rarely go to bed before 1:00 am. I'm obsessed with chocolate, I love the Rutles' Tragical History Tour, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Criminal Minds (yes, it is an odd combination). I love reading, learning different cultures, writing, literature, tea, coffee, and people with a strange sense of humor. I respect wit, book worms and intelligence. I love British humor and USA sarcasm, real artists, accents, history, strangeness, gothic style, fashion, music, movies, and all things beautiful & beautifully ugly. Vampires and Zombies ... who can't live without them.

So ... After all that "confession" ... I invite you to look through my portfolios and contact me to schedule your photographic art experience.
